How top schools scored per subject in 2022 KCSE

A comparative subject analysis of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination by Education News on select secondary schools across the country has shown that Kanga Boys topped with 49 Grade As.

It was followed by Maseno with 48 As, Maranda with 69 As, Butere 16 As, Mbita 15 As, Kabarak posted 72 As, Kabianga 15 As, Alliance Boys 72 As, Sironga with 2 As, Loreto Limuru 5 As and lastly Kipsigis Girls which posted 6 As.

Kanga had a biggest share in the best overall mean scores in subjects leading in four subjects; Mathematics with a mean of 9.3426, Physics 9.8896, Chemistry 9.1643 and Agriculture 11.8182.

Kabarak and Alliance Boys tied after leading in three subjects each; English 10.18, Biology 10.07 and Business Studies 9.64.

Maseno led in History and Geography with a mean score of 11.1899 and 11.7821 respectively.

French saw Kabianga take the lead posting a mean of 12.0 while Maranda took position one in Kiswahili with a mean score of 10.6496.

C.R.E saw 10.4739 as the highest mean posted by Kipsigis Girls.

In Computer Studies two different schools took the lead with a mean score of 12.0 – Maranda and Kipsigis Girls.

Overally, French and Computer Studies had the highest mean score of 12.0 while Chemistry recorded the least mean score of 9.1643.
