In Narok County, one name continues to shine brightly in the education sector, Dennis Asiago Mbori, a teacher whose passion for science, mentorship, and teacher empowerment has left a lasting mark on both his colleagues and students.
Currently teaching at Ole Tipis Girls High School, Mbori has built a reputation as an inspiring educator who combines discipline, innovation, and compassion in his work. For him, teaching is not merely a job, it is a calling rooted in service and transformation.
As the Chief Examiner for Chemistry Paper 3, he plays a vital role in ensuring fairness and excellence in national examinations. His professionalism and attention to detail have made him a trusted figure in the education sector. Through this role, he also mentors younger examiners, instilling values of accuracy, accountability, and integrity.
Beyond the classroom, Teacher Mbori serves as the County Organizing Secretary for the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (formerly Science Congress), where his leadership has helped Narok County’s teams reach the national stage multiple times. Under his guidance, students have designed innovative scientific projects tackling real-world challenges such as renewable energy, waste management, and environmental conservation.

“He made science exciting and always encourages us to think differently and believe that we can solve problems through innovation. Because of him, I now want to study chemical engineering,” said one of the students at Ole Tipis Girls.
As a county trainer with the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), Mbori has also been instrumental in training teachers on Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) pathways.
He emphasizes hands-on learning and encourages teachers to make lessons practical and relevant to everyday life. His work has improved the confidence and creativity of many teachers across Narok County.
“Every teacher deserves a voice, fair treatment, and professional support to perform effectively,” he added.
Teacher Mbori says. “When teachers are empowered, they are better equipped to inspire and transform the lives of their students.”
