Hosts Nyanza today crashed out of the soccer event at the ongoing Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association (KPSSA) games being held in Kisumu.
Nyanza lost to Coast Region 4-3 via a penalty shootout after a barren draw at full-time.
Nairobi also made it to the finals tomorrow after beating the Eastern Region 7-6 in penalty shootouts.
Nairobi KPSS secretary Julius Ochoki lauded the city side for making it to the finals amidst tight competitions in the tournament.
In soccer girls, Western region will square it out with Nyanza while in Volleyball for boys Rift Valley will battle it out with the Eastern region.
Rift Valley will again fight it out with Western in Volleyball for girls while in Handball for boys Eastern will square it out with Rift Valley.
In the girls’ category for handball Rift Valley will again meet the Western region while Nyanza will come face to face with Rift Valley,
Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association (KPSSA) national chairman Ben Achieng lauded the organizers of the event.
Achieng said standards were this year very high compared to last year.
He singled out volleyball which he noted had made tremendous improvements.
Achieng who spoke at the sidelines of the event at the Kisumu boys high school commended the school principal Duncan Owiyo for exhibiting high standards.
Earlier KNUT secretary general Collins Oyuu announced that they have donated trophies for the event in all disciplines.
