Homa Bay schools top in 2020 KCSE

There was  celebration at Agoro Sare High School in Rachuonyo South Sub County, Homa Bay County after the school produced the second best candidate in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams whose results were released yesterday.

The school produced Wasonga Allan Udoma who scored A (plain) with 87.173 points emerging the second best nationally.

The school Principal James Momanyi says Udoma maintained position one in his entire academic tenure at Agoro Sare High School.

Momanyi who spoke to Education News on phone described Udoma as a disciplined student and dedicated in his studies.

Momanyi says that the student who is a partial orphan had been a role model to his colleagues as far as humility is concerned, adding that the school achieved excellent academic performance due to its structured academic programmes.

At Asumbi Girls National school in Rangwe sub county 19 candidates scored A plain. Onyando Laura Sangra emerged the best after scoring A plain with 83 points followed by Angwenyi Mogotu Halliah A plain with 82 points, Isaboke Janet Kemunto A plain with 82 points.

The school principal Pino Sati attributed the good performance with discipline and dedication of the students, adding that the school in the last four years has not produced a candidate with A plain.    

At Mbita National School, there were nine candidates who scored A plain. Otieno Enis Okoth emerged top with a mean grade of A plain with 83 points.

The school Principal Kennedy Ojijo says the sterling academic performance was achieved because of co-operation between teachers, students and parents.

At Homa Bay High School, Roger Magena Mwita emerged top with a mean grade of A plain of 83 points followed by Bernard Odongo A plain of 83 points, Kevin Brian Ochieng A plain of 82 points, among other candidates.
