The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Homa Bay Branch has urged the detectives to launch speedy investigations into the brutal death of a teacher which took place on Friday, May 20.
The union led by the branch chairperson Jack Okoth, called on the police in Rangwe to look on to the death of Benson Evans who was deployed at Bakhita Girls Secondary in Homa Bay County who on Friday night in Komenya Sub-location, East Kochia Location was attacked by unknown assailants while heading to his rented house in Rodi Kompany trading centre.
The attackers brutally slashed his neck before stabbing him on the head using a spear and disappearing with his motorbike.

“The matter is with the police and what we want is speedy investigations. We want to know those who killed the teacher Benson Evans and the motive for his murder,” Okoth said.
At the same time, Rangwe Sub-county Police Commander Magdalene Chebet while commenting on the matter on Sunday, May 19 said they had launched investigations into the incident to ensure the family of the slain teacher gets justice.
“We’re already pursuing crucial leads to help us get people who killed the teacher. Let residents with more information to report to address the matter urgently,” Chebet said.
The body was moved to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary.
