Secondary schools’ hockey powerhouse St Anthony’s Boys High School Kitale and former girls’ national champions Nyamira are on course to winning this year’s titles. The two sides have had a good run and are yet to lose a match going into the semi-finals of the Kenya Secondary Schools (KSSSA) National Term One games currently on in Eldoret.

St Anthony’s completed their Pool A matches with a convincing 5-0 win over Maseno School to top the pool and book a semis date with Mang’u High School who finished second in Pool B. Pool B winners Musingu will take on Meru School who finished second in Pool A after a decisive shootout that saw them send Nairobi School packing.

Nyamira will play newbies AIC Nyayo from Eastern Region who finished second in Pool B. Tigoi Girls who returned to the national after some years in the cold will play Pool A second place finishers after toping pool B.

In rugby 15s, it will be a battle for debutants in both semi-finals. Butula Boys, All Saints Embu, Ofafa Jericho and St Anthony’s Boys Kitale took the national games by storm outclassing their opponents to reach the semis. Butula from Western who are eying the national gong will take on Ofafa Jericho from Nairobi who finished second in Pool A. All Saints Embu from Eastern will clash with St Anthony’s. All finalists will book their tickets to this year’s Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) games set for Huye, Rwanda.
