Highway Boys, new National KSSSA Champions

Highway Boys from Nairobi Region are the new Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National ball games champions.

Highway were crowned champions after winning in penalties against Musingu High School from Western Region after the fierce teams ended in a 1:1 draw in normal playing time  in  concluded KSSSA ball games held  in Kisii County.

Consequently, in the highly competitive 3×3 basketball category, St Joseph Boys and St Joseph Girls dominated the courts, taking home the championship titles in the boys’ and girls’ divisions, respectively. Both teams showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, solidifying their reputations as basketball powerhouses.

Rugby 7s saw intense matches, with Bwake Boys clinching the title in the boys’ category, while St Joseph Girls once again demonstrated their versatility and athletic prowess by emerging as champions in the girls’ division. Their victories were a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport.

In volleyball, Cheptil Boys and Kwathanze Girls reigned supreme, displaying incredible spikes and blocks that left their opponents struggling to keep up. Both teams have a strong legacy in volleyball, and their performances in Kisii only added to their storied histories.

The netball championship saw Oyugi Ogango Secondary rose to the top, outplaying their rivals with superior strategy and precision. Their win is a significant achievement and will surely inspire future generations of netball players at the school.

Butere Girls emerged as champions in the girls’ soccer division.

The KSSSA National term two games in Kisii have once again highlighted the immense talent present in Kenyan secondary schools. The champions in each category are now set to represent the country in the East African Competitions, where they will undoubtedly continue to shine.
