Half-term dates for basic education adjusted to make up for lost time

Basic Education PS Dr Belio Kipsang has announced new half-term dates for schools.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has adjusted the half-term dates for basic education institutions due to the delayed reopening of schools this term.

According to a memo signed by Basic Education PS Dr Belio Kipsang’ to all County Directors of Education (CDEs), the revised dates are between June 26-28, 2024; a change from the initial June 20-23, 2024.

The CDEs are instructed to communicate the information to all heads of schools in their jurisdictions, who are in turn expected to make the necessary adjustments on planned activities and schedules.

The opening of schools for term two was pushed back for two weeks, and the revised dates are meant to make up for the lost time.
