The Maasai Mara University community has been thrown into worry and confusion following the disappearance of Tevin Mwangi, a second-year Bachelor of Commerce student who went missing on Monday shortly after attending his classes.
Tevin, who was last seen wearing blue jeans and a grey jacket, has not been reachable since, and all attempts by his family and friends to trace him have led to dead ends.
What makes his disappearance even more alarming is that it is not an isolated incident.
In recent months, the university has witnessed a worrying pattern of students going missing under unclear circumstances.
These cases have sparked fear, speculation, and an urgent debate about the safety of learners within and around the institution.

Students are openly questioning what is happening behind the scenes and why such incidents seem to be occurring with increasing frequency.
Tevin is known among his classmates as a disciplined and focused young man, someone who rarely changes his routine and keeps close contact with his peers.
His sudden disappearance has left many deeply unsettled.
His family is devastated and is now appealing to the public and the university community for any information that might help bring their son back home.
As anxiety grows on campus, calls continue to mount for stronger security structures, better surveillance, improved lighting, and more proactive monitoring by authorities.
Many believe that the recurring nature of these disappearances points to a deeper problem that must be addressed before more students are affected.
Anyone who may have seen Tevin or has information that could assist in locating him is urged to reach out immediately through the following contacts: 0720 242 708 and 0752 652 33.
