A 39-year old teacher from Kamurto Primary school in Marakwet West has died after committing suicide in his own house.
It is alleged that he took his life due to depression and trauma from undisclosed issues.
The deceased, Joseph Kipkech, was a talented teacher in various subjects and had scooped many awards in sciences and languages.
A close family member revealed that Kipkech set all his clothes ablaze before the incident, adding that this was the second attempt.
He said that two of their family members had also died by suicide including his father in 1993.
Kamurto Primary head teacher, Nancy, advised teachers to talk to professional counselors when they feel depressed and promised support to their families when need arises.
