The Sotik Technical Training Institute (Sotik TTI) community has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its students, Dorcas Chepngetich.
According to an internal memo issued by the Dean of Trainees, Nicholas Bett, the late Chepngetich passed away on November 22 at Tenwek Mission Hospital after a short illness.
According to the reports, she had been unwell for the past few weeks and was recently rushed to the facility for medical attention, where she sadly succumbed.
The institution condoled her as a dedicated student in the Liberal Department, pursuing Level 5 Social Work, adding that her death has left fellow students, lecturers, and the entire institution deeply shaken.
The late Dorcas hailed from Mogondo Ward in Emmurua Dikir Sub-county, Narok County.

The dean’s office is currently in consultation with the family, and burial arrangements will be communicated once finalized.
In the memo to staff and students, the institution expressed profound sorrow:
“We regret to inform you of the demise of Dorcas Chepngetich. May the Almighty God rest her soul in eternal peace.”
Her death marks a heartbreaking moment for the Sotik TTI family, which continues to mourn a promising young woman whose life and aspirations were cut short.
