Gov’t should increase funds to special schools

By Tony Wafula

The Ministry of Education has been urged to increase funding in schools with special needs as a way to help students living with disability access education.

The call was made by Joyce Nasambu when she led her foundation in the donation of uniforms at St. Anthony School in Webuye for the hearing impaired.

She said many special schools lack essential facilities to facilitate their learning.

Nasambu said that students in special needs should not be neglected instead considered most in the society.

Her foundation has been on the forefront in helping special needs schools to ensure that students get education in Bungoma County and its environs.
