The government has failed to promote primary school teachers in the country with higher qualifications, KNUT Secretary General, Collins Oyuu has revealed.
Speaking to the Media during the official opening of KEPSHA AGM held at Sheikh Zayed Children’s Welfare Centre in Mombasa recently, he lamented that many primary school teachers in the country with degrees, Masters and PHD have not been considered for promotion.
“This has demoralized teachers efforts towards progression in academic enhancement,” Oyuu lamented.
Additionally, he stated that teachers in the country have managed the administration of 2023 KCPE and that is the reason why no examinations cheating were reported.
The Secretary General further asked the government to handle teachers issues with extreme care as they are the people who determine the bright future of the school children.
