The government has allocated Ksh82 billion to finance scholarships, loans and grants to university students across the country.

Speaking at Etago town as he concluded his three-day tour to Kisii County, President Ruto reiterated his commitment towards equity in education.

“We have increased the money available for education from Ksh42 to 82 billion. The invitation letters that were sent from universities were talking about costs of the courses offered at the respective institutions I want parents to ignore them and wait for proper letters that will be issued soon,” he said.

The President, who earlier laid the foundation stone for one dormitory and three classrooms at Kiabonyoru Secondary and declared the establishment of Nyamira University, also launched the construction of Kenyerere Primary School in Kitutu Masaba Constituency.
