The government is committed to ensuring all children acquire education in order to transform their lives and put them on the path to greatness, Matungulu Constituency Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Maryanne Wanjiru has said.

Speaking yesterday at Uamani Secondary school in the constituency during commissioning of new classes constructed through NG-CDF, Ms. Maryanne urged students to work hard in their education to achieve their dreams and make the society a better place.

“I am challenging the students to make good use of learning facilities so as to excel in their academic endeavours and achieve their dreams,” she said.

The administrator told the students to avoid bad company and erratic behavior which may derail them from pursuing their education.

She also asked parents to take their children to school despite the economic hardships being experienced countrywide, saying education is every child’s right regardless of their social background.

The ACC warned that parents who fail to take their children to school despite the free primary and secondary education programme will be prosecuted.

“The government has spent billions of shillings to achieve universal education and with the 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary, no child should be at home because we recognize education as a key pillar to realization of our development goals as well as Vision 2030,” she said.
