Tinderet MP Julius Melly has announced that the Government has allocated of Ksh. 100 million for the construction of Koitalel Samoei University which has been stagnant.
Addressing the community, Melly revealed that negotiations with multinational tea companies have resulted in the acquisition of additional land to facilitate the university’s expansion.
“The first contractor was discontinued as a result of delays and a new contractor given the work,” the MP stated.
Emphasizing the significance of the university, he urged patience among the residents.

“The main campus would be situated in Nandi Hills, accompanied by satellite campuses in various sub-counties,” Melly assured.
The institution, paying homage to Nandi legend and freedom hero Koitalel Samoei, was granted 100 acres at Koitalel Samoei Secondary School on the outskirts of Nandi Hills town.
As pressure mounts on the Government to finalize the project initiated in 2017, the renewed commitment and financial injection signify a promising step toward realizing the Koitalel Samoei University vision.
