Governor warns those impregnating school girls of dire consequences

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has issued a warning to those impregnating school girls saying they will face the full force of the law when found.

Speaking to the press recently in Eldoret town, Mandago said cases of early pregnancies have been on the increase in the county hence high dropout rates.

“I will personally follow up on the matter and I will not stay mum while the future of our children is being tampered with. Chiefs and their assistants should ensure that such culprits are brought to book,” governor Mandago added.

He further called on parents to take care of their children.

“It is sad that some parents have left their roles to teachers,” the governor added.

Mandago said that his administration will ensure that students who have dropped out of school due to pregnancy are taken back to school.
