Presiding over the event at Kericho Day Secondary School in Ainamoi sub county, Governor Dr. Erick Mutai thanked all stakeholders involved in the exercise including the County Assembly and the department of education for working tirelessly to ensure students from poor backgrounds get financial assistance to continue their education.
“I also came from a humble background and I have to make sure that others who are in a similar situation got assistance where necessary,“ he said adding, “all orphans have been given priority with an award of Ksh 10,000.”
The governor called on the beneficiaries to repay the efforts in kind by completing their education and posting excellent results.
