Bomet County Governor, Hillary Barchok, has reiterated his commitment towards the provision of quality public school infrastructure, learning material and nutrition even as priority will be accorded to knowledge acquisition in order for a guaranteed future of the citizens.

Speaking on May 25 at the commissioning of a modern classroom funded by Unilever Tea Company Limited at Chebangang Mixed Day Secondary School, Kimulot Ward, Konoin Sub-county, the governor confirmed that it was the duty of any responsible leader, Government and institution to provide the basic necessities of life for the people. He noted that education is the fountain of our future as a society and the nation at large.

Barchok said that leaders and the community must endeavor to provide a conducive learning environment for children as well as encouraging them to pursue their dreams, asserting that his administration is determined to consolidate on the gains of the partners and donors as they continue to build more schools but more importantly.

He pointed out that his vision is to touch the lives of the people and make them feel the presence of government no matter the location of the community as he assured the residents that he will not fail to take Bomet County to the next level.

He stressed that quality, affordable, inclusive and accessible basic education is the foundation for a progressive society and that he is motivated to go an extra mile in finding donors and partners to build schools since for a long time, the community has been neglected by successive administration.

He thanked the residents of Konoin for giving him the maximum votes during the just concluded UDA party nominations.

“You have spoken and I won’t let you down,” said Governor Barchok.
