Kabarak University’s Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Henry Kiplang’at has urged the government to increase capitation of students studying  at private universities.

Prof Kiplang’at said when capitation for students studying in private universities increases, many Kenyans will get opportunities to pursue diverse courses.

He was addressing the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms which was sitting in Nakuru High School.

Prof.Kiplang’at urged the government to adequately support private universities, putting into consideration the role they play in impacting the lives of Kenyans.

He said many Kenyans prefer private universities due to the quality education they offer.

Acknowledging that private universities require support of government, he thanked the latter for allowing government sponsored students to be admitted to private universities.
