Go home, Bungoma KUPPET official tells Magoha

By Tony Wafula

A Bungoma County KUPPET official has accused Education Cabinet secretary George Magoha of poor management of the ministry.

Executive Secretary Augustine Luketelo asked the CS to step aside, saying he had failed to deliver on his mandate.

He accused the CS of harassing education officials, citing an incident in which Magoha was captured on video rebuking a senior official in Uasin Gishu County last year.

”Magoha should focus on his job and stop harassing officials,” he said.

Lukutelo was speaking at St. Luke’s Kimilili Boys High School during a meeting to deliberate on ongoing school riots, in which Bungoma County has featured prominently.

He dismissed the plan to hire school managers, saying it will result in confusion and friction in the running of schools.

The unionist also blamed area MPs for inciting parents and students.

”Some leaders have been heard on local radio stations making inciting statements against schools management,” he said.

”They should stop dragging schools into politics. They should give teachers ample time to deliver,” he said.
