Give scholarships to needy learners, Nyandarua leaders told

Leaders in Nyandarua County   have been urged to give academic scholarship to needy students to enable them to fulfil their academic dreams.

Nyandarua County Director of Education Phillip Wambua said many needy students in the county have a thirst for education but due to financial challenges, they cannot get what they want.

Speaking in his office in Olkalau town, Wambua urged MPs and county governments to continue to support needy students through increasing the fund for scholarship for the needy to enable them fully concentrate on their studies.

“We request our Members of Parliament in Nyandarua County and the county government to offer scholarships to needy students to give them an opportunity to continue with their education smoothly,” said Wambua, encouraging beneficiaries to work hard in reciprocity and parents to play their provident roles.

He told school heads to supervise curriculum delivery in their schools and ensure all teachers use the available resources well for the benefit of students.

“It is the responsibility of school heads to ensure the syllabus is covered to recover the first two weeks of this term which were affected by floods,” he said, telling them to be present in school always.
