The 2025 Schools Term Two National Games wrapped up in style on Saturday, August 2025, attracting thousands of enthusiastic spectators who turned up to enjoy thrilling finals in multiple sports categories.
Hosted at Kakamega High School grounds and the Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County, this year’s edition stood out as one of the most energetic and well-attended in recent memory.
The week-long event, which began in the last week of July, saw outstanding performances from schools across the country, with finalists in each discipline earning a spot to represent Kenya in the upcoming FEASSA (East Africa Secondary School Games) set to be hosted this month in Kakamega County.
The tension briefly soared during the girls’ football final between Madira Girls and Butere. This is after teargas canisters incident briefly disrupted the encounter as police battled the fans.
The game was eventually ended safely, and the spirit of sportsmanship prevailed throughout the week.
