The Friends Kaimosi Girls’ Senior School parents have been tipped on the Competency Based Education (CBE) pathways, a move aimed at aimed at familiarizing them with the new education framework.
The programme led by Paul Wanyonyi, a renowned motivational speaker and facilitator of the “Masterclass” program, show parents guided through the pathways and enlightened on how to guide and advise their children to make good choices while settling for any subjects.
Wanyonyi however, challenged parents not to force their daughters into pathways they do not prefer. “Let the girls choose what they love and what aligns with their strengths,” he urged.
He addressed common misconceptions surrounding CBE, noting that many circulating rumors about the new curriculum lack factual basis.

According to Wanyonyi, CBE is learner-centered and places students where they best fit, enabling them to realize their full potential.
He encouraged parents to fully support school programs and take time to understand the curriculum framework — particularly its financial implications.
He was talking during the Grade 10 orientation event attended by teachers, parents, students, and other key stakeholders in education.
