Form two student dies on the spot after bodaboda accident

By Enock Okong’o

A form two student was hit by another bodaboda rider as he rode along the Nyakoiba Kenyenya rough road in Kisii county.

According to an eye witness, the student who was riding had ferried a client to Ibencho market from Kenyenya town but met his fate on his way back.

Gucha Sub county police commander Nicolas Ngamo identified the body as that of Enosh Onyancha, a form two student at Mochorwa secondary school.

‘His body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for preservation and consequent postmortem,’ Ngamo said.

Mochorwa secondary school principal Mr.Ondati, mourned the student as one of the average ones the school had.

He appealed to parents to discourage their children from indulging in the bodaboda industry because it lured them to deviate from concentrating on their studies.

The student’s death comes barely a week after another form two student from the neighbouring Kenyenya secondary school died.

It is alleged that the student was murdered in cold blood by irate youths who invaded his father’s farm and injured him with poisoned arrows. He died on his way to Kilgoris hospital.

Kenyenya secondary school principal Mr. Lawrence Makori  condemned the death and called for peace to prevail among the Uashingishu and Siria clans of TransMara West in Narok county.

Kilgoris police commander Kibisu said he had dispatched a contingent of GSU police to pacify the area. He assured the residents of their security.
