Fireworks expected as Kakamega County schools football pools released

Some 14 schools that emerged winners in their respective sub counties will battle it out at Kakamega County Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two football games next week.

The county KSSSA sports which will take place from June 19-22, 2024 in Mumias, pool B male category which has Musingu High School from Kakamega South Sub-County, Chebuyusi Boys (Navakholo) and Kakamega High School (Kakamega Central) is being considered as the hardest one as compared to other pools.

Kakamega met Musingu in the county finals last year with the latter carrying the day in post-match penalty.

Pool A has Motoni Secondary (Lukuyani), Emanini Secondary (Matungu), St Joseph’s Mumias (Mumias West), and Butere Boys (Butere).

Pool C consists of Munyuki High (Lugari), Lwadeti DB (Matete), Lugusi (Kakamega North), and Eshibinga Secondary (Khwisero).

Pool D has Shanderema Boys from Kakamega East Sub-county which over the years has been performing exemplary in sports, Khaimba High (Mumias East), and St Peter’s Mumias (Mumias West).

In the girls’ category, pool A has Muukusi Secondary (Matete), St Stephen’s Lwanda (Likuyani), Arch Bishop Njenga (Lugari) and Mukumu Girls (Kakamega East).

Pool B include Kimang’eti Girls (Kakamega North), Ahong’injo Secondary (Mumias West) and Mwira Secondary (Matungu).

St Mary’s Mumias (Mumias West), Kilimo Central (Kakamega Central), Butere girls (Butere), and Sivilie Secondary (Navakholo) will compete in the county games from pool C.

Lastly, Pool D will be include teams from Musoli Secondary (Kakamega South), Mlwanda (Khwisero), and Mwitoti Secondary School from Mumias East.
