Family seeks help to find daughter lost for 2 weeks now

A family in Boige Village, South Mugirango Constituency is living in fear as their 15-year old daughter, Rose, has disappeared for two weeks now.

According to Samuel Oendo, Rose’s father, who is the Bodaboda riders Chairman at Ekona market, the girl went to school with her colleagues but did not return in the evening.

“We thought that she slept at our neighbour’s place and will return the following morning but that did not happen,” he said.

The girl was a standard 8 candidate at Rionsata Primary School.

He reported the disappearance at Etago Police Station where officers began investigations immediately.

The Police report indicated that Rose has a brown complexion and was last seen wearing a dark blue frock uniform and muffin threaded hat.

They appealed to anybody with information on her whereabouts to report to contact the father on his mobile number 0716484872 or the take her to a nearby church or Nyumba Kumi centre for help.

Elsewhere, a man was beaten and left for death in Nyamarambe village on Tuesday after some villagers dragged him out of his house and flogged him for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s daughter.

Daniel Otieno of Nyamarambe village met his worst on Tuesday when the assailants invaded his home.

His wife and children called for help from the area chief who rescued the man and was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment.

Speaking to Education News, he denied having lured the Standard 8 girl and appealed to the police to arrest the attackers.

He noted that he sustained spinal cord injuries and was unable to stand, adding that his family members had abandoned him at the hospital due to shame.

He appealed to well-wishers to visit the hospital and assist him get more medical attention.
