Nakuru County Director of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Japheth Kariuki has issued a stern warning to Examination Centre Managers regarding any involvement in cheating during the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

Kariuki emphasized the importance of creating a conducive academic environment for students instead of assisting them in any illicit activities.

He assured that TSC is meticulously monitoring all schools in Nakuru County to ensure the fair and proper conduct of the KCSE.

“Center Managers should understand that the Commission evaluates school performance using various parameters, and promoting cheating is not a pathway to career advancement,” the Director stressed.

He urged Principals to focus on infrastructural development, co-curricular activities, nurturing students’ talents, and academics.

While he encouraged students to excel, he vehemently discouraged any form of cheating during the exams.

Kariuki further highlighted the repercussions of cheating, explaining that it could restrict students from pursuing their desired courses in university, as inflated grades might not match their actual capabilities.

He urged examination officials, including invigilators and supervisors, to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

Additionally, Kariuki urged parents, especially those with students in day schools, to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for their children during the exam period.

He extended his best wishes for success to all candidates and expressed gratitude to teachers, Center Managers, supervisors, and invigilators for their dedication in ensuring the smooth administration of the exams in Nakuru County.
