Evening fire razes two dormitories, store at Masii Boys

A raging fire broke out at Masii Boys High School in Mwala Sub-county of Machakos County burning out two dormitories and a mattress store.

The incident was confirmed by Francis Nzioki, director of emergency services in Machakos County who said the cause of the evening fire remains unknown.

He said that locals and fire fighters responded promptly to the scene, working diligently to contain and extinguish the blaze.

“We are grateful that all students and staff are safe,” remarked Nzioki. “Our immediate focus is on ensuring the well-being of everyone and providing support to those affected by this incident.”

The fire, which started in the evening hours, caused significant damage to the infrastructure and belongings within the affected buildings. Efforts are underway to assess the extent of the damage and initiate recovery measures.

“We urge the community to remain calm as we work through this challenging time,” added Nzioki. “We are cooperating fully with the authorities to determine the cause of the fire.”

Investigations to determine the cause of the fire are underway.
