Eric Omondi launches platform for unemployed graduates

Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has launched the Kenya Association of Unemployed Graduates and Entrepreneurs, KAUGE, a platform that will help the target groups to access aid, job links and support one another.

While speaking when he launched the platform, the comedian said he met over four thousand unemployed graduates and promised to connect them with jobs.

“I have come to realize that when we come together, we can achieve anything. I promised to open a central office for all the unemployed graduates in Kenya and use this space to connect them with employers,” he said

The association, which is a product of “SISI KWA SISI”, an initiative started by the comedian and relies on Kenyans of goodwill to marshal finances towards assisting needy Kenyans to meet challenges such as clearing medical bills, paying school fees or starting businesses, will operate independently after they elected their leaders, ranging from President, Vice President all the way to secretaries.

He further called upon corporates, employers and individuals with any job to reach the association through a call, text or whatsaap via 0718891427.

Erick Omondi has remained active in fighting for the welfare of the needy in society. In early January 2024, a video of a small school girl crossing a raging river on a dilapidated makeshift bridge went viral and caught the attention of the comedian.

Moved by what he saw, Omondi rallied Kenyans on social media to support the construction of a modern footbridge and save the village from imminent danger that was lurking every time they used the bridge. It was completed sooner.

“Kemunto Bridge is complete. This young girl has changed a whole community. She is a heroine. This bridge is not only historical but also extremely symbolic,” Omondi had said via Instagram.

The comedian also recently held a conference which brought on board almost 5000 unemployed graduates who showed up with their certificates and other documents for job hunting.
