Environmental Ambassador Silas Wameyo has advocated for the inclusion of environmental studies in primary education nationwide.

During a tree-planting event at Kathekakai Primary School, Machakos County, Wameyo stressed the significance of teaching children about tree conservation.

Wameyo emphasized the urgency of making such studies mandatory in all educational institutions, starting from the early stages, to effectively address climate change.

“Instilling this knowledge in students can play a crucial role in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change,” he asserted.

Wameyo extended his call to teachers in Machakos County, urging them to actively participate in tree planting to enhance the school environment.

He further emphasized the need for a collective effort from Kenyans to integrate tree planting into their culture, creating a formidable defense against destructive weather conditions.

Additionally, Wameyo invoked the legacy of the late Prof Wangari Maathai, encouraging everyone to emulate her dedication to environmental conservation.

He envisioned a society where every small action contributes to the preservation of nature and its resources.
