Irate parents of Isyukoni secondary school in Masinga sub-county, Machakos county stormed the school on Monday and ordered students to go home.

The parents, armed with placards and twigs, then proceeded to chase away the school principal and locked his office.

They protested the management of the school and called for dissolution of the Board of Management.

Some of the parents who addressed the press called for the transfer of the school head claiming he has contributed to the deteriorating performance of the school.

They also accused him of mismanaging the school funds and forwarded their grievances to the Sub County Director of Education (SCDE).

“A few years back before he came, we had students going to universities, now the performance has dropped so much,” said a parent.

“He orders for students to be sent home so that he can get money and squander. We have no problem with anyone else but he should be transferred as soon as possible because in two years’ time we want to come back here and find grade As on the notice board,” said another.

They called upon the Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu to intervene on the issue or else they won’t bring back their children.
