Parents in Bungoma County have been urged to fully engage in their children’s Academics calendar while at school and home.
Speaking to Education News during an Education Day at St Mary’s Magdalene Primary School Namamuka in Musikoma Ward, the Webuye East KNUT Executive Secretary who doubles up as a member of the National Executive Committee NEC at the teachers’ union, Mr Aggrey Namisi said parents should fully play their vital role by ensuring that they follow up on what their kids are learning at school.
He advised students to concentrate more on their class work instead of being lured into pre-mature relationships which lead to a high number of school dropouts amongst learners due to early pregenancies and even marriages.
He was speaking on behalf of Bungoma South KNUT Representative, Mr Ken Nganga Milimo.
The Bungoma County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Education and Vocational Training, Dr Betty Mayeku thanked all teachers for their dedicated efforts in imparting knowledge to students.
She promised that his office will put up state-of-the-art and model ECDE classes at the school.
