Embu shines in KMTC zonal games

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Embu Campus teams put up sterling performance to win several games in the KMTC Championship that has recently ended in Embu County.

The Embu KMTC team outclassed Karuri KMTC team to become the champions in Netball finals with 35 points against Karuri which only managed to garner 11 points.

In another game Embu KMTC team for girls posted their tactic in football KMTC and shot 1-0 over Isiolo.

It was not easy either for Isiolo football team to penetrate Embu’s defence as it remained solid all through the match.

Embu’s Volleyball team for men trounced Nyeri after scoring 3 points against 0.

While addressing the press after closing ceremony at Kigari Teachers College, where the KMTC championships were held, Dr. Caleb Mutua who is the Principal of KMTC Embu branch lauded his team for the exemplary performance, saying it was impressive.

He noted that the games were an eye opener for integrated sharing of experiences between the students.

Dr. Mutua stated that the sports talent tapping oriented so that the talents among the students can be natured.

“Many students here have talents and that is why we contract athletics Kenya to be part of this games because we want to tap this talents and nature them,” said Dr. Mutua.

Daniel Kipngetich, who is the principal Nyeri KMTC, lauded managements of the medical institutions for the well-planned sports saying students were happy to resume sporting activities after they were suspended due to COVID-19.

He said the games will now proceed to Muranga for regional levels.

“Here we were at zonal level, we are now proceeding to Muranga County for regional next month then we will be advised where we shall move to at national levels,” said Kipngetich.
