Nakuru TTC Principal Zebedy Muga said that well-educated teachers have three main impacts which are useful to the society.
Muga said education brings economic impact as it civilizes the society.
“Economic impact includes creation of employment,” he said.
He added that Kenyans should view education as a tool for future development and civilization.
“Education is symbol of national unity as it unites students from diverse cultures and religions,” he said.
Muga urged parents to embrace Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and support the government’s move to domicile Junior Secondary Schools in primary schools.
He went on to add that through CBC, learners will get what is required to compete in the current job market.
He added that CBC entails collaboration and communication, citizenship, creativity & innovation, critical thinking & problem solving which are very important in students’ learning experience.
He also indicated that the curriculum enables learners to be critical thinkers who are ready to solve problems facing the society using available resources.
Muga noted that parents should use the available resources to implement it in order to improve self-efficacy and digital learning to all learners.
