A leader from Embakasi South has called for increased investment in education and stronger support systems for young people, saying the constituency’s long-term development depends on empowering its growing youth population.

Speaking during a community engagement forum, Jared Oundo said that the challenges faced by students and unemployed youth demand urgent, coordinated action from both local and national leaders.

Oundo emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for transforming families and communities.

He noted that many bright students in Embakasi South still struggle to access bursaries, learning materials, and safe study environments, leaving them at a disadvantage compared to their peers in other parts of the city.

“Every child in Embakasi South deserves an equal chance to succeed,” Mentor Oundo said. “Education is the bridge to opportunity, and my commitment is to make sure no student is left behind.”

He proposed a more transparent and timely bursary allocation system, increased scholarship opportunities, and targeted support for marginalised learners.

According to Oundo, these investments would not only keep more children in school but also strengthen the constituency’s future workforce.

Beyond academics, Oundo stressed the importance of linking education to real job opportunities.

He said Embakasi South must prioritize youth innovation hubs, digital training centres, and sports facilities that can nurture talent while equipping young people with practical skills.

“Our youths are talented and ambitious,” he said. “What they need are platforms where their ideas can grow into meaningful work and sustainable careers. If we invest in them today, we secure the prosperity of Embakasi South for generations.”

Residents at the forum echoed these concerns, noting that unemployment and limited training opportunities have pushed many young people into frustration.

The community representatives welcomed Oundo’s proposals, saying they provide a clear pathway toward reducing poverty and unlocking local potential.

As campaigns intensify ahead of 2027, education and youth empowerment have emerged as defining issues in Embakasi South — and Oundo’s message appears to be resonating strongly with families seeking long-term, meaningful change.
