The County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet, in partnership with Pratham International, an Indian organization, has concluded a refresher course for Vocational Training Centre (VTC) instructors on the new training methods.
The training, which took place in Iten, aimed at equipping instructors with modern teaching methodologies, focusing on interactive learner-centered approaches.
Pratham International is currently collaborating with vocational training institutes in the country offering Enhanced Training Methodology for VTC trainers designed to equip vocational educators with effective, interactive teaching methods through hands-on training.
According to Samuel Kipchumba, the County Director for Vocational Education and Training (VET), the model incorporates digital resources and virtual training into the curriculum.
Kipchumba at the same time hinted that the workshop, which brought together representatives from all 17 Vocational Training Centres in the county, focused on key areas including effective content delivery, communication, and technical skills, strengthening industrial linkages as well as integration of ICT and emerging trends in training curriculum.
