“Manual payment has aided corruption for many years. As a county, we want to end the vice through registering our teachers in the new county payroll system,” he said.

He called on all ECDE teachers to turn up for the ongoing registration, which is being conducted at the sub-county level.

“Each educator is expected to have a personal payroll number starting the next financial year. This is a major step toward streamlining teacher management and payment,” said Ruto during the launch of the registration exercise.

The exercise kicked off on May 27, in Chepkorio, Keiyo South, and will proceed to Kapsowar in Marakwet West tomorrow.
