Eldoret National Polytechnic clinches coveted award at 2024 ASK Show

The Eldoret National Polytechnic scooped prestigious award in the ongoing Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) 2024 Show in Eldoret.

The polytechnic, through its exhibitions,  beat other institutions to clinch top position in the best tertiary education institution stand award.

The event started on March 6 and will end March 9 with hundreds of farmers from the rich agricultural region gracing the event.

The Chief Principal Charles Koech has been taking guests around various stands.

The innovations on display include smart bee hive, modern chicken house, waste oil cookstoves, hybrid domestic installation system, biomass cookstoves, and herbal treatment for pityriasis versicolor, among others.

For the first time ASK show has  number of organisation such as Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service who have set up farm clinics at the show for the four-day event to enable researchers assess the challenges faced by farmers at the farm level.

This year’s theme is ‘Promoting smart agriculture and trade initiative to foster economic growth’ and seeks to promote latest innovations to enable the farmers improve productivity.

Susan Seron, the North Rift ASK chairperson said President William Ruto was expected to preside over the official opening of the event on Friday March 8 where different exhibitors will be awarded.

More than 200 exhibitors, local and international are showcasing various innovations to boost yields at the farm level.
