Education stakeholders want NG-CDF kitty boosted

By Malachi Motano

The National Government should increase National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty to take care of all needy learners.

During the disbursement of bursary cheques totalling Sh34.3 million to 2,462 needy students in Saku constituency at Dakabaricha Secondary School, local parents and teachers association chairman Omar Qutara said there were many deserving cases that were not being taken care of, hence the need for the government to boost the kitty.

The event was graced by the area Member of Parliament Colonel (Rtd) Dido Raso who also called on parents to take the education of their children seriously and stop giving them chores that keep them from attending school.

The legislator advised against retrogressive cultural practices like early marriages, which he said were an impediment for not only individual development but the nation as well.
