Education stakeholders in Nyamira Mourn MCA who perished in road accident

Education stakeholders from Nyamira County have mourned the Nyamaiya ward MCA Elijah Osiemo who died in a gristly road accident.

The MCA who was in the company of his two colleagues were travelling to Nairobi when the accident happened along Maai Mahiu -Naivasha Road.

The Nyamira Education Supporters (NES) group which met at Nyamira town immediately after learning of the sudden death sent heartfelt condolences to the family.

The educationists eulogized Hon. Osiemo as a great man who held education at his heart.

“We have lost a pillar for education from our midst.” Chairman Jared Marita said in a statement

He was in the company of Nyamira township ward MCA Duke Masira and Nominated MCA Priscilla Nyatichi when the tragic accident occurred.

Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo termed the late Osiemo as a very industrious and zealous leader whose gap will take a long to fill.

The two other MCAs were taken to Naivasha Hospital for treatment while Osiemo’s body was ferried to Lee Funeral Home for preservation as the funeral arrangement kicked off.

Naivasha County Police boss Mr Boen confirmed the incident.

He said Masira suffered a strained and dislocated elbow while Nyatichi suffered multiple injuries.

“The two survivors were rushed to hospital and hope they will recover soon.” He said.

The police commander explained that Osiemo died on the spot after the car in which he was travelling in, hit a bodaboda that was ferrying Charcoal.

He said the Bodaboda rider sustained injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

West Mugirango Member of Parliament Stephen Mogaka was among the earlier leaders who sent their condolences to the family.

“As Constituency, we have lost a very important soul who was a resourceful leader, May God rest his soul in peace “He said.

The late Osiemo is survived by a young family of a widow and three children.
