Education PS Dr. Belio Kipsang has defended the accuracy of the recently released KCPE results.

Speaking during the Chepsaita cross-country run inauguration in Uasin Gishu County, Dr. Kipsang clarified that any discrepancies were attributed to a technological glitch in result transmission via SMS.

“We will clear the air next week when we meet with the MPs in parliament,” he stated.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu and KNEC CEO David Njeng’ere were scheduled to address the Education Committee of the National Assembly on Thursday but were unavailable.

Parents from Kitengela International School and Set Greenhill Academy Mixed and Boarding Junior School, whose candidates contested their scores, filed suits against KNEC in the High Court.

They seek an injunction on Form One selection until their grievances are heard.

Pius Kiio, representing Kitengela International, cited the school’s consistent track record, expressing bewilderment at this year’s anomalies.

Lawyer Danstan Omari argued that the 2023 results deviated from a reasonable range.

Evelyne Kemuma from Set Greenhill Academy voiced dissatisfaction with her child’s marked exam papers and the hurried result release.

Alleging mental stress for her child due to assigned grades, Kemuma petitioned the court to address these concerns.

As the KCPE results continue to face scrutiny, the upcoming parliamentary session promises elucidation on the discrepancies and technological challenges that marred the result transmission process.

Notably present at the event were DP Rigathi Gachagua, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, and other government officials.
