Digital learning has been fully integrated into the education protocols in West Pokot, the county ECDE Director Joseph Tonyirwo has said.
Speaking during the inauguration of digitized learning at Kapenguria Vocational Training Institution, Tonyirwo said all the gadgets have been fully enhanced with all the learning areas like Maths, English, CRE, Psychomotor and Environmental Studies.
He praised the digitization as a novel experience that gives a comprehensive exposure which can easily be monitored by the director, coordinators and all county government education personnel in order to improve service delivery in all learning institutions.
“It’s now imperative for all educators to attend all the stipulated lessons which will run for four hours every day from 8 am to 12 pm. The process will fully expose learners to the gadgets,” he said, suggesting that it will give him an additional chance to be part of the learning process irrespective of distance and place, and will also form a basis upon which a teacher can be assessed and promoted.
Tonyirwo added that it is indeed a process of converting analog information into a digital format and has three prime stages; exploring, validating and creating data.
The process will also improve access, preservation, interaction, integration, equity and relevance, which will go hand in hand with the national goals of education.
It will combine various predominant learning areas like reading, writing, visual, auditory and kinesthetic, thereby blending physical and passive learning.
