Kuresoi South Sub-County Director of Education Doneth Otieno has asked parents to shun practices that curtail the freedom of the girl child at their adolescent age to access education and improve their lives.
Speaking at an event this week, Otieno said that girls are dropping out of the education system at an alarming rate due to societal challenges.

She said that parents should play a big role in supporting the girls to access quality education.
“These early marriages and pregnancies are hampering the future of these girls; we need to help them work and remain in the education system and fulfil the dreams of their families,” she said.
