Parents and members of the teaching fraternity alongside stakeholders in Kisumu County have been called upon to give students proper
guidance as they pursue various pathways.
Speaking at Xaverian comprehensive school in Kisumu Central, area region director of education Rosemary Birenge stressed that learners should not be forced to take up pathways they don’t
Like, adding that,it is imperative that learners are accorded the best opportunities to choose careers which will benefit them in future.
Birenge also cautioned teachers not to force learners into taking pathways which interest tutors, similarly urging parents not to force learners into picking up careers that only serves the interests of guardians alone.
The director stated that learners will be facing a critical time when they reach senior schools, urging parents to support schools and also take a keen interest in the education of their children.

She lauded the school management led by the School Head teacher ,George Polo for keeping high standards at the learning institution.
The school head on his part said the school has so far done well in KPSEA adding that the, school has all along engaged stakeholders in all its undertakings. Polo lauded the Ministry of Education for the support, especially the,Teachers Service Commission (TSC) accorded the school.
“We have enough teachers both for primary and junior secondary,” he said
The head teacher though decried the sorry state of the school’s infrastructures especially toilets which he said is not adequate to cater for the large students population, even though they are trying as a school to in order have students learn in a conducive environment.
“The school is immaculate and conducive for learning despite inadequate infrastructure required. We are grateful for the support from the parents and government,” Polo said.
He also lauded parents for remaining supportive and cooperative on matters of education, including the board which termed it diligent in decision-making in regards to the school.
