Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba officially welcomes newly appointed Kenya Literature Bureau CEO George Wanga, expressing confidence that his leadership will drive digital transformation.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has formally welcomed the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB), George Wanga, expressing optimism that the state publisher is set for a new phase of growth, modernisation, and more substantial impact within Kenya’s education sector.

During the meeting, CS Ogamba congratulated Wanga on his appointment and applauded his readiness to take up the leadership of one of the country’s most critical institutions in curriculum publishing.

He affirmed that the Ministry of Education remains fully committed to supporting KLB as it enhances the quality of educational materials and expands access to reliable, curriculum-aligned content for learners nationwide.

Ogamba underscored the pivotal role KLB continues to play in shaping Kenya’s learning environment.

He noted that as the government works to strengthen the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and improve literacy levels across the country, the contribution of institutions like KLB becomes even more essential. KLB’s mandate, he said, goes beyond publishing textbooks—it includes promoting national values, preserving knowledge, and ensuring that learners receive accurate, relevant, and up-to-date content.

He emphasised the importance of strengthening distribution systems to ensure that learning materials reach all regions, including marginalised and hard-to-access communities.

Wanga, on his part, expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to steer KLB towards higher standards of excellence, digital transformation, and financial sustainability.

He committed to working closely with the Ministry to uphold KLB’s legacy as a trusted source of quality educational resources.

CS Ogamba concluded by expressing confidence that under Wanga’s leadership, KLB will continue playing a transformative role in advancing literacy, supporting curriculum reforms, and contributing to Kenya’s broader education goals.
