Education CS calls on Gusii leaders to work together, focus on development from the Govt.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has appealed to leaders from Kisii region to put aside their political differences and focus on tapping developments from the government.

Machogu was addressing education stakeholders and political leaders from both Kisii and Nyamira Counties when they paid him a courtesy call at his office in Nairobi.

He said it takes a collective responsibility to attract success.

Machogu appealed to the community to avoid in-house grudges but instead unite for a common goal as they claimed their rightful piece of the national cake in terms of development.

“I ‘am one of your own in the sensitive government position and there is a need for you to prop me up because if I fail the failure will be counted on the community.” He said

Machogu who reiterated the need for the community to support the government of the day said that he was ready for any positive criticism because such provides new ideas for development.

“I am not in the government because of my own effort but this is the trust the president has for our community, we have a challenge to prove to the rest of the country that we are equal to the task.”He said.

Machogu’s response came three days after he was faulted by Nyamira County Senator Okong’o Omogeni over the negligence of Schools in Nyamira County.

The team included the former Kisii County Governor James Ongwae, his deputy Joash Maangi, Solister General Shadrack Mose and South Mugirango MP. Sylivanus Osoro.

MP Osoro who doubles as the Chief Whip in the parliamentary likened Machogu to a cow which produces many litres of milk but does not make noise like a hen that lays one egg and goes out shouting.

“Do not equate Machogu to his predecessors who kept on trumpeting for personal success in the Ministry of Education, he is calm like water that runs deeper.” He said.

Osoro asked Critics of CS Machogu to go to Nyabururu Girls and Nyambaria National School and counter-check on the developments that have been initiated by the CS.

The leaders reminded the CS to incorporate local leaders in his entourage to schools in order to seal baseless political loopholes meant to derail President Ruto’s government.

They asked the political opponents to avoid politicizing education matters because education remains for posterity.
