Eldas Member of Parliament, MP Adan Keynan Wehliye, officially launched the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursary program at Eldas Secondary School to boost education in the constituency.
Speaking at the event, which was attended by Wajir County Senator Abass Sheikh Mohamed as the Chief Guest, the MP underlined the critical role of education in driving community development.
A total of Ksh. 41 million was disbursed to support deserving students across secondary schools and higher learning institutions.
Keynan underscored that the initiative is not just a form of financial aid but a strategic investment in the community’s dreams and future.

“This is more than just financial aid—it’s an investment in the potential, dreams and future of our community, which remains the most powerful tool we can use to break the cycle of poverty, unlocking the chains of illiteracy and taking a bold step to safeguard the future of our children,” said Keynan.
The legislator reiterated his administration’s broader commitment to education, promising continued investment in infrastructure, equal access, and skills development. He remarked that the bursary scheme is part of a larger, long-term strategy to strengthen regional educational standards and outcomes.
“My administration remains solidly determined to remove the barriers that hinder access to quality education and lay down landmark investments that will improve educational infrastructure and ensure consistent learning to equip learners with the requisite skills to feature in the job market competitively.” he added.

Several county officers and Members of the County Assembly were present at the meeting, including Eldas South Deputy County Commissioner Simon Mokua and a host of Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) such as Yussuf Hussein (Della/Anole), Ugas Hussein (Eldas Ward), Abdirizak Adow (Elnur/TulaTula), Rashid Billow (Lakoley South/Basir), Adan Issack, and Amina Mohamednoor.
As Eldas charts a new course for its educational future, Keynan’s initiative signals a transformative moment for the constituency, rooted in the belief that investing in education is investing in peace, progress, and prosperity for all.
