Learners in Angata Barrikoi, Trans Mara South Sub-county, are set to benefit from improved learning facilities following the commissioning of new education infrastructure by Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu.
Governor Ntutu unveiled three modern Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classrooms and a fully equipped computer laboratory, marking a significant milestone in promoting early learning and digital literacy in the region.
“Our aim is to give every child, regardless of where they come from, a fair start in life. These new classrooms bring education closer to our children and create an environment where they can learn comfortably and safely,” said Governor Ntutu.
The ECDE classrooms were constructed at Kapsinendet, Koibeyot, and Kimugul primary schools, while the computer lab was inaugurated at Ng’endalel Secondary School.
Ntutu added that each ECDE classroom will accommodates 40 pupils and is fitted with age-appropriate furniture to create a conducive learning environment.

He noted that the newly launched computer laboratory will bridge the digital divide and expose students in rural areas to modern technology, aligning with the national government’s goal of integrating ICT into learning.
“Digital literacy is no longer optional. We want our students in Angata Barrikoi to compete favorably with their peers across the country and beyond. The new lab will prepare them for the fast-changing world,” he added.
The county boss said investment in education remains a top priority of his administration, noting that the county government is focusing on improving early learning infrastructure, supporting digital learning, and ensuring equitable access to education across all wards.
“We are laying the foundation for the next generation. When children are empowered through education, communities thrive and poverty declines,” he remarked.
The governor was accompanied by Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno and Area MCA Joseph Koech, who commended the county government for prioritizing education as a tool for community transformation.
