Emuhaya Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba has asked parents to take their children to schools that they can afford. He noted that this will help reduce the number of school dropouts due to lack of lack of school fees.
He said there are day schools which post good results and are affordable and that parents with low income should identify such schools and send their children there.
He added that he targets full implementation of the 100 % transition policy in his constituency
He noted that the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) bursary is there to supplement school fees payment to a few deserving cases who are in special secondary schools within Emuhaya.
Milemba asked parents to invest in the education of their children saying that is the only way to fight poverty.
The legislator said Kshs 37.10 million has been allocated to the education sector and Kshs 600,000 allocated to sponsor boda boda operators in Emuhaya to go for driving school training.
Milemba added that lunch programme for all class eight candidates in all public schools in Emuhaya will start in second term.
